The Jefferson School is not a typical school. We foster a culturally diverse community that values a holistic approach to education. Our students come from southern Kent County and throughout Sussex County.

FIRST, COME VISIT
If you can imagine your child building self-confidence and falling in love with learning in a small, intimate classroom setting, you need to visit The Jefferson School and see what all the fuss is about. Our progressive educational methods are unique in the area, but don’t take our word for it. Come visit! We would be delighted to show you around any time during the year. Of course, the best time to visit is when school is in session. Information packets are also available ON REQUEST
NEXT, FILL OUT AN APPLICATION
Once a decision is made to apply to the school, parents/guardians complete an admissions form along with the application fee of $100. Applications are reviewed and an interview is set up with the Head of School. At this meeting you can tell us more about your child and we can discuss any concerns or questions you may have.
THEN, YOUR CHILD WILL SPEND THE DAY WITH US
Prospective students will spend one full school day at The Jefferson School, meet the teachers and students and see what it is like to be part of the class. Following the visit, you will meet with the Head of School to discuss whether The Jefferson School is a good fit and the right choice for your family.
MAKING IT OFFICIAL
In addition to the usual enrollment papers to sign and arrangements for tuition payment to discuss, students who were previously enrolled in another school will also be required to submit their school records.
All students are required to submit health records prior to the start of school.
*NEW families interested in The Jefferson School must complete all of the admissions requirements before being considered for financial aid.
